Brand means not the made-up struggles! Not the make-up PRs! It’s what was/is the original contribution in the field of STEM, Arts, OR Literature! It’s the inventive steps that brought the change. And then, a journey from the invention to the innovation, yes, from invention to innovation, the most important aspect (albeit invention > innovation). And where in this quest, neither the size of your nation, nor its economic status really matter!
Take this example. NOKIA, a small Finnish country, yet, the brand dominated the World for decades, until the Touchscreen FOMO action they miscalculated!
Japan, again, a small nation, Yet, -> TOYOTA, NINTENDO, FUJI etc. originated from there. Now, were they started as Social Media Entrepreneurs? Nope! Were they started as Critics Launderers, Activists’, YouTubers & Instagram Baloney? Nope! And that’s the reason why and how they were able to build the foundation of great brands + inventions + innovations from SCRATCH!
South Korea, again, a small nation, yet again -> Samsung, LG, Hyundai etc. made their case in the global market!China, again, initially started as Piracy is the only Copyright with mandatory Tech Transfer Policies including the exclusive ownership; But Later of course, built Advance companies like Huawei (I must accept, Huawei’s inventions are cool & commendable), DeepSeek, SMIC etc.
Europe was/is more concentrated on Fashion & Finance, thus, when Mr Trump threatened Tariffs, Europe panicked; and still it’s panicking, because, again, how long both France & Germany can bear take the burden of EU on their shoulders?
This is also true that Soviets and Germans, a century back, were one of the impeccable Inventors and Brand Value Creators; and then we must also accept the same about the British too (if we forget what they did in the past for a moment).
When I use the term brand in TRANCE music today, I only recall first Germans, Russians, Austrians, and then add others to the list who got inspired from former! When I use the term Movies, then of course, it is Hollywood!
More than the economy, more than the size of your nation, how many JUSTIFIABLE inventions or brands any nation creates, that matter! Now, those brands and inventions must have solid roots too, just like the above! And further, what a nation creates that matter, not its diaspora!
The equation Inspiration == Originality, Shouldn’t become the modus – operandi. Nor invention < innovation! Nor Representation == Diktat! The Political Class or Media, who market(ed) these Three Equations were/are the Enemies of the inventions and innovations. Remember!
And use PR and Media baloney only when there’s a justifiable, substantial, solid, roots in the field of STEM, ART, OR, LITERATURE! Rest is all FLUFF FUZZ SUPERFICIAL in the World!
