Mr. Piyush Goyal recently referred about the culture of present-day Incubation, Innovation, and Invention w.r.t. replica business models, citing example of APP based delivery platforms (and BTW, earlier it was Payment Gateway systems, and then came Social Media platforms) that has crowded the market, the truth that was never addressed in the mainstream. But its roots lie behind the psychology that flourished in the last few decades. Of course, there should be minimum standards below which neither academia nor any Institute should admit nor hire anyone; alas, the kind of methods & metrics been followed is bizarre, if not outlandish!
Incubation is gestation, which leads us to find invention to nurture what evolved from that gestation, and then comes innovation, which is using what has been nurtured well. And it shouldn’t be the replica in all the cases!
Herein, I would restrict to the -> less entrepreneurs, more employees culture first, that has taken the system for a ride. Incubation, Invention, & Innovation aren’t to start your YouTube Channel / Instagram Account / become LinkedIn enthusiasts’ by uploading what new certifications completed recently, that would be lying in your cupboard or drawer, and will never be used or hardly used, YET, still be relevant to crack the Hall of Fame HR rounds. Nor after completing your qualifications, open Tuition Centres to prepare others for a handsome fees’ for any entrance examination. This is like what the Left started long back, by giving admissions to their own people, that led to the end of the ‘relevant’ entrepreneurship culture in the Academia, as they were following the self-same models and metrics. Nor do for the sake of doing anything.Incubation, Innovation, and Invention are three words, that can’t be used just anywhere. Like it takes both physical and psychological strength to climb the Everest; similarly, it takes psychological strength to fulfil the criteria of these three words alone!
To make relevant again the terms like Incubation, Invention, & Innovation, and add Origination as well now; we need to change the modus-operandi and unchain everyone from the said methods and metrics that’s been followed, in Chorus, everywhere!😊
